Ancient Coins Exhibition
Interactive 3D Interface – The Israel Museum
An interactive digital interface developed for an exhibition of ancient coins at the Israel Museum.
8ND designed and produced a touch-based system built around high-resolution 3D scans of rare historical coins. The models were derived from precision scanning processes and rendered in real time, allowing visitors to rotate, magnify and examine both obverse and reverse sides with exceptional clarity.
The interface enables dynamic control of light and angle, revealing relief depth, inscriptions and surface details that are often imperceptible in traditional display conditions. By simulating physical handling through accurate digital modeling, the system expands visibility without compromising the preservation of the original artifacts.
The design balances technological precision with visual restraint, integrating seamlessly within the exhibition architecture while supporting close analytical engagement.
