Illegal Immigration from Arab Lands
Exhibition Design & Production
A permanent exhibition dedicated to the story of illegal Jewish immigration from Arab countries, focusing on clandestine operations surrounding 1947.
8ND led the project in full — from conceptual development and architectural planning to content creation, multimedia integration and on-site execution.
At the heart of the exhibition stands a historic aircraft, originally used in covert immigration missions. Rather than presenting the plane as a static artifact, 8ND transformed it into a fully immersive spatial environment.
The interior shell of the aircraft — walls, floor, ceiling, front and rear fuselage — was lined with flexible OLED surfaces, creating a seamless visual envelope. A custom-developed animated narrative unfolds across the curved structure, enveloping visitors within a dynamic spatial composition.
The aircraft functions simultaneously as historical object and experiential medium. The immersive environment does not simulate spectacle; it translates movement, uncertainty and transition into a controlled architectural language.
Surrounding the aircraft, the exhibition integrates documentary material, reconstructed environments and multimedia stations within a cohesive spatial framework designed and executed by 8ND.
The project brought together a multidisciplinary team under 8ND’s direction, aligning historical research, architectural clarity and advanced media integration into a unified visitor experience.
